Edukasi dan Partisipasi Masyarakat untuk Mengatasi Masalah Sampah Laut di Pantai Pangandaran

Abstract
Sampah laut telah menjadi masalah global yang berdampak signifikan terhadap ekosistem laut, ekonomi, pariwisata, dan perubahan iklim. Pengabdian masyarakat ini berfokus di Pantai Pangandaran, dimana aktivitas pariwisata, populasi penduduk, dan kegiatan nelayan menyumbang terhadap persoalan sampah laut di wilayah ini. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk mengevaluasi kesadaran masyarakat dan mencari solusi penanganan sampah laut yang efektif di Pantai Pangandaran. Melalui survei dan edukasi secara interaktif kepada 25 peserta, kami menemukan peningkatan kesadaran. Hasilnya menunjukkan terjadi peningkatan tentang pengetahuan jenis sampah laut dari 55% menjadi 70% dan peningkatan dari 33% menjadi 67% untuk aspek inisiatif memerangi sampah laut. Sementara itu, pelaksanaan praktik di pantai secara langsung berhasil memberikan pengalaman dan pemahaman penanganan sampah laut bagi peserta. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa edukasi dan partisipasi masyarakat bisa menjadi solusi efektif untuk mengurangi dan menjaga kebersihan pantai dari sampah laut.
